     This blog is a compendium of activities and articles for primary language teachers, children aged 6-13 and their parents.

     The main aims are:

• to provide a wide-ranging resource of practical ideas which are easy to use and which can be adapted flexibly and creatively in different contexts and situations;
• to provide support for primary language teachers in their own professional development through encouraging them to use the activities as a springboard for personal investigation and inquiry into what "works" for them in their own classes;
• to help parents who want to improve their children's language skills;
• to make process of learning English easier and more interesting for the Young Learners.

The blog is suitable for:

•  primary language teachers working in the state or private sectors;
• candidates following teacher education courses;
• parents who teach their children for the first time.

Грамматика. Множественное число существительных

Множественное число существительных.

К слову добавляется -s, например: cats, dogs, lions, monkeys.

При этом помним правила произношения:

• Если слово заканчивается на глухой звук [t], [p], [k], то и окончание -s звучит глухо - [s]: cats, helps,cakes.

• Если слово  заканчивается на звонкий звук  [b], [d], [g], [v], [l], [m], [n], [j]  или на гласный, то окончание -s звучит звонко - [z] : cabs, beds, dogs, lives, pupils, films, kittens, plays; monkeys, sofas.

• Если слово заканчивается на шипящий, свистящий и пр. звук [s], [z], [d3], [∫], то к слову во множественном  числе добавляется окончание -es, которое читается [iz] : foxes, pages, washes, roses.  

• Кроме указанного правила есть слова исключения, но с ними мы познакомимся позже.

1. Прочитайте слова: [frסgz], [ræts], [pigz], [ræbits], ['elifənts], ['pærəts], [bסksiz]

Грамматика. Составление вопросительных предложений

Составление вопросительных предложений (общие вопросы) и ответов на них:

     Tom's dog is big. 

Is   Tom's dog    big?

       Yes, it is.              No, it isn't.

     Cats can jump.

Can  cats     jump?

Yes, they can.                 No, they can't.

     I have got a blue pen.

Have you    got a blue pen?

Yes, I have.                      No, I haven't.

Грамматика. Сокращенные формы отрицаний

 Сокращенные формы отрицаний:

                        is not = isn't

The dog is not black.= The dog isn't black.

            cannot  = can't

Frogs cannot run.= Frogs can't run.

            have not got = haven't got

I have not got a brother.= I haven't got a brother.

            has not got = hasn't got

Tom has not got a dog. =  Tom hasn't got a dog.

         Yes, I have. - Да, есть. (Йес ай хэв).  
          No, I haven't. - Нет, нету. (Ноу ай хэвент).

• I have got a friend.  - У меня есть друг.
